Overview:
After upgrading to GFI Archiver version 15.10, some users may observe that the archive stores have not upgraded their schema version successfully. This can be verified via the Administration UI.
Root Cause:
This usually indicates that the automatic Database schema upgrade failed and needs to be performed manually.
Solution:
To manually bring all archive stores to the expected schema version (69) for 15.10:
Run the Bulk Schema Upgrader
- Schedule a maintenance window.
- Launch the Bulk Schema Upgrader:
- Found in:
C:\Program Files\GFI\Archiver\BulkSchemaUpgrader
- Found in:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade all stores.
Refer to this guide for full steps: How to upgrade the Archiver database schema
You may also encounter a behaviour where only a few archive stores are upgraded. Refer to the following articles for resolution steps:
- Error: "Database schema failed to update" When the Archive Store Schema Is Being Updated
- Error: 'Database schema failed to update' or 'There was an error reading from the pipe: The pipe has been ended. (109, 0x6d)' when the Archive Store schema is being updated
If you're using the Firebird database engine, follow these steps:
-
Stop all GFI Archiver services.
-
Navigate to:
Archiver\Store\Data\Schema -
Move the following files to a backup location outside the Archiver folders:
-
MARMsSqlEml.xml -
MARFBEml.xml
-
-
Unzip and place the corrected versions of these files into the same folder.
-
Restart all GFI Archiver services and ensure they are running.
-
Run the Bulk Schema Upgrader.
