Archiver creates 2 SQL Accounts per Database

Overview

This article will provide content on the accounts created per database within SQL. The account configured within the Archiver console creates and manages these accounts upon Archive Store creation.

Information

Customers may inquire about Arch and Brws accounts that are being created within their SQL any time a new Archive Store is created. These accounts are required for the Archiver software to function, but the main access required is what is configured in New Archive Store Settings. Archiver will check for these accounts when editing the database and create them only if they don't exist.

GFI Archiver creates 2 accounts per database. Examples will be shown below.

  • 2018 Jan - Feb_arch_2018110113332
  • 2018 Jan - Feb_brws_2018011013332

There is an archive account and a browse account. The archive account (arch) is used when creating new entries and the browse (brws) account is used when running queries directly from the database. They also have very minimal SQL permissions and cannot be removed.
