Overview

Archiver Archive Stores can be detached and attached again, for example when moving Archiver to a new server.

For information on how to attach an Archive Store, refer to Attaching an Existing Archive Store.

Before detaching an archive store, consider taking note of the details of its summary page as a reference for later use (for example, Archive Store Name, Archive Store Type, Database Name, Server, Path to the Search index, Path to binary source).

Solution

1. Open the Archiver Console web page.
2. Select the Configuration tab and Archive Stores.
3. Select an existing Archive Store and click Detach.
   
   
   Note: Detaching an Archive Store does not delete any Archived Email data but it will no longer be accessible to search via the Archive tab or email management tools.
4. When prompted, click OK.

Confirmation

After detaching the Archive Store with the steps above, navigate back to Configuration > Archive Stores and the database that was detached will no longer be available on the list.
