Emails that are being archived via the Microsoft Exchange journal mailbox:
Emails that reaches the journal mailbox in Microsoft Exchange are a copy of the original email that was sent or received. The original is delivered normally to the intended recipient. GFI Archiver deletes only the copy from the journal mailbox after it has been processed, but never from the user's mailbox.
Emails that are imported via the Import Export Tool:
Emails that are imported from a user's mailbox or PST are copied. The original emails will remain in the user's mailbox or PST file.
Emails archived via the Archive Assistant:
The Archive Assistant has the ability to remove emails that were archived through it:
- either via a maintenance job (X days after archival) or directly after archival
