Overview
This article provides a solution to an issue you may encounter when upgrading the schema of the databases or starting the Bulk Schema Upgrader tool.
Information
After upgrading Archiver, you want to update the schema of the databases or start up the Bulk Schema Upgrader tool, but the following error message is shown: "Error retrieving databases.
"
The debug file ..\Archiver\BulkSchemaUpgrader\DebugLogs\GFIMailArchiverBulkSchemaUpgrader.log
reads:
"GFI MailArchiver Bulk Schema Upgrader", "Info - User NOT logged in as domain user."
This issue occurs because a local account does not have the necessary permissions to upgrade the databases' schema. The user who runs the upgrade requires internal admin permissions within the product itself.
Process
To fix this issue, check the following:
- Make sure you run the tool as a user who has been granted Administrator permissions under Configuration > Roles and Permissions.
- Verify that all GFI Archiver services are started.
If you are using GFI MailArchiver 2014 or earlier, make sure you login as a domain user in Windows (preferably a domain admin instead of a local user).
Confirmation
The Bulk Schema Upgrade tool starts successfully.
