Overview

 Generating the Data Leakage Detection MailInsights report fails. The debug log ..\Core\DebugLogs\MIRepDataLeakage.log reads:

"info   ","MIRepDataLeakage","Generating report Data >>"
"error  ","MIRepDataLeakage","Error: while Collecting report Information from Report Options: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
; Parameter name: Email is null/empty

Note: For GFI MailArchiver 2013 or older, the debug log mentioned is located in ..\Core2\DebugLogs

Environment

• GFI Archiver
• All supported environments

Root Cause

The issue occurs when you request the report but have insufficient permissions in Active Directory. For example, you use a Recycle Bin like Organizational Unit (OU) in AD, which contains user objects which cannot be read by the user who requests the report.

Resolution

Ensure that the user who is logged into GFI Archiver and requesting the Data Leakage Detection report can read data from all user objects in Active Directory.

Note: This must be configured within Active Directory.
