To update a GFI MailArchiver Store, perform the following procedure:
- Ensure that the database schema of the Store you wish to update has been upgraded
- NOTE: You can check which build you are currently running on from the GFI MailArchiver Configuration > Version Information node. If you are running on an older version of GFI MailArchiver proceed to note (3) below before continuing this procedure
- Run the Email Hash Generation Tool which can be located at the following path <\GFI\MailArchiver\EmailHashGenerator\HashGenerator.exe>
- Click the Next button
- If you are using a Microsoft SQL database as your Archive Store then perform the following:
- Click on the Microsoft SQL Server Database option and then click Next
- From the drop down menu, select the database you wish to update and select Next
- The Email Hash Generator will now generate the Hash for the emails stored in the SQL Archive Store
- If you are using a GFI MailArchiver database and file system as your Archive Store then perform the following:
- Click on the GFI MailArchiver database and file system option and click Next
- Click on the Browse button, find the path to the database file ( *.fdb) and click Open
- Click the Next to proceed with the wizard
- The Email Hash Generator will now generate the Hash for the emails contain in the GFI MailArchiver Database Archive Store
- This tool will only be effective if the messages are still available in Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Store
- GFI MailArchiver 3 Archive Stores cannot be updated by the Email Hash Generation Tool
- The Email Hash Generator is not available anymore from GFI MailArchiver 2013 onwards
