Overview
- This article shares the process for assigning roles in GFI Archiver.
- A user or group can be assigned one role. No user or group can be assigned two roles.
- However, since a user can be a member of more than one group, each group assigned to a role will have priority. This is done to overcome inheritance issues.
- Users will be automatically assigned higher priorities than groups.
Process
Follow these steps to assign a role:
- Go to Configuration.
- Click Roles and Permissions.
- The Roles and Permissions page is divided into two windows.
- The Roles and Permissions page is divided into two windows.
- Click Assign.
- In the User/Group field, select a user or group.
- In the Role field, select a role from the drop-down list to add.
- The selected user or group is added to the list with the option remove before saving.
- Click Save.
- Go to Configuration > Roles and Permissions to verify the role you just modified and verify whether this user appears credited with the newly assigned role.
