Overview
As the date format is controlled by the browser, to change the format, you need to modify your browser settings. In the following example, it is assumed that the English/United States locale (which uses mm/dd/yyyy) is currently configured and that it is desired to change it to English/United Kingdom (which uses dd/mm/yyyy).
Process
Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Open the Windows Control Panel.
- Navigate to: Region and Language > Formats.
- Click on the Format drop-down list and choose English (United Kingdom).
- Save the settings.
- Restart the browser.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the Firefox options.
- Navigate to: Content > Languages > Choose.
- Add the entry English/United Kingdom [en-gb] to the list and move it to the top of the list (it should be higher than English/United States [en-us]).
- Save the settings.
- Restart the browser.
Google Chrome
- Open the Chrome settings.
- Click on Show advanced settings...
- Click on Language and input settings…
- Click on Add, find English (United Kingdom) and add it to list.
- Drag and drop the entry English (United Kingdom) to the top of the list (it should be higher than English (United States)).
- Save the settings.
- Restart the browser.
