Overview
This article provides detailed steps on how to use the GFI Archiver Import and Export Tool to export emails from Microsoft 365 (previously known as Microsoft Office when GFI Archiver is connected to the GFI Directory.

Requirements

GFI Archiver is installed with GFI Directory.

The GFI Archiver Import and Export Tool must run on the same machine on which GFI Archiver and GFI Directory are installed.

Make sure that GFI Directory contains all your user accounts, including their email addresses and proxy addresses, before starting the export process.
Process

Open the GFI Archiver Import and Export Tool.

Select Export from Microsoft Exchange and click Next.

Select Microsoft Exchange Online (Exchange/Microsoft 365) from the drop-down list and enter Microsoft 365 credentials with access to the mailboxes you want to export, and click on Next.

Enter the GFI Directory credentials for the local Administrator in the GFI Active Directory Credentials window that appears, as shown below. Click OK when you are done.

The Mailbox and Folder Folder Selection window appears, as shown below. Choose either of the following options, depending on your setup:

All mailboxes and folder: If you want to export all mailboxes.

Select the mailboxes and folders from where to extract emails: If you want to export only one mailbox. Enter the email addresses of the mailboxes to export delimited by semicolons (;). Click on the '...' button, next to the Mailbox name field, to fetch the folders. Select the appropriate folders and click Next.

Select the Import Options as detailed below, and once done, click Next to start the operation.

Select the destination; this can be either a folder or to GFI Archiver directly.

Select a date range to be used to import emails.

Select the proper checkbox if you want to export the folder structure.

In the Advanced Options, you can select if you want to mark items imported or skip those already imported in previous attempts.

When the process is complete, click Finish to close the tool.
