Overview

This article provides relevant information on how to determine from which folder in the Journal Mailbox are emails downloaded. This information may be helpful when troubleshooting issues related to Journal Mailbox, or when GFI Archiver is not archiving emails.

Information

GFI Archiver downloads emails, by default, from the Journal Mailbox's \Inbox, and it will not download emails from any other folder than the configured folder.

Assuming an example folder structure within the Journal Mailbox, and that GFI Archiver is configured to download emails from \Inbox, then only emails from the \Inbox folder itself will be downloaded, and no emails from any of the following folders will be downloaded:

• \Inbox\Temp
• \Inbox\Test
• \Sent Items
• \Junk E-Mail

The folder from which to download emails can be configured within the data source (the reference to the Journal Mailbox within GFI Archiver). The data sources can be found and edited by navigating to Configuration > Mail Servers to Archive.
