Answer
It is recommended to take a backup of the system before going through this procedure.
To remove the services:
- Stop all GFI Archiver services
- Use the following command to delete all GFI Archiver services: SC DELETE SERVICENAME
- MARCore
- MARIMAP
- MARMAIS
- MARSearch
- MARStore
- MARVSS
- The Services MMC (services.msc) can be used to check what GFI Archiver services exist and how they are named
- Older versions of the product had the version number in the services name, for example: MAR9Core or MAR9Store
- Version 2013 or older did have an additional service (Core2) which would need to be deleted too - for example: MAR9Core2
Registered files:

Open regedit.exe
- If no other GFI Software products are installed, delete the 'GFI' key from HKLM\SOFTWARE
- If other GFI Software products are installed, delete the HKLM\SOFTWARE\GFI\MARx
Notes
- If you have installed version 2013 or older on a 64bit machine, the path will be HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\GFI\MARx
- X will stand for the version of the software)
From Add / remove programs:
- Open regedit.exe
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products
- The sub-keys of this key are a bunch of letters and numbers. Go through these keys are remove the ones which have "ProductName" equals GFI Archiver or GFI MailArchiver
- Do the same for the following key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Web page in IIS:
- Open: Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
- Navigate to: Servername > Sites > Site in which the product is located in
- Remove any of the following applications if they exist:
- Archiver
- Archiver_Services
- MailArchiver
- MailArchiver_Services
- Navigate to: Servername > Application Pools
- Remove any of the following application pools if they exist:
- ArchiverPool
- ArchiverServicesPool
- MailArchiverPool
- MailArchiverServicesPool
