Overview
Administrators may notice that the Configuration tab is missing when logging in to the Archiver console. This article provides a solution to restore access to the missing Configuration tab.
Diagnosis
Administrators are unable to configure Archiver settings due to not being able to see the Configuration tab. When logged into the web interface with a domain administrator account which should have access to the configuration section of the interface, the Configuration tab is missing. Different browsers, permission settings and environmental variables can be factors to this. See below to access the Configuration tab again.
Solution
You can try the following solutions:
Run Internet Explorer in elevated mode
- Right click on the Internet Explorer icon
- Select Run as Administrator
- Internet Explorer will launch in elevated mode
- Open the URL: http://serverhostname/Archiver or http://localhost/Archiver (if on the server)
Disable UAC (not recommended)
- Click Start and in the Run... bar type msconfig
- From the Tools tab, choose Disable UAC
- Press the Launch button

- Type UAC in the search field in the upper right corner of the window.
- Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.
- Then do one of the following:
- To turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify, and click OK.
- To turn UAC on, drag the slider up to the desired level of security, and click OK.
- You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.

- Type UAC in the search field on your taskbar. (If the search field isn't visible, right-click the Start button and choose Search.)

- To turn UAC on, drag the slider up to the desired level of security and click OK.
- You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.
- Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
Reset and Re-configure 'Roles and Permissions'
On occasion this is caused by a corrupt configuration file which can be reset to allow default access (Domain Administrators) to be restored and Roles and Permissions can be re-configured after access has been restored.
Review How to reset "Roles and Permissions" article for the procedure to reset.
Review Configuration of Roles and Permissions for Access in Archiver article for the procedure to re-configure.
Testing
After performing the fixes above Administrators should have access to the Configuration section when accessing the Archiver console via the WebUI.
