Overview
For GFI Archiver to sync items from Microsoft Exchange 2003 server using MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface) specific permissions are required. This article shares the process for setting necessary permissions.
Process
Follow these steps to set the permissions:
- Open the Microsoft Exchange System Manager.
- Navigate to Servers >
[Server Name]
>[Storage Group]
. - Right-click the Mailbox Store and select Properties.
- Select the Security tab.
- Click Advanced button.
- Uncheck the Allow inheritable permissions… checkbox.
- In the Security dialog box, select Copy.
- Click OK to apply changes and return to the Mailbox Store Security properties.
- In the Security tab, select Administrator from the Group or user names.
- From the Permissions, list check the Allow check boxes for Receive As and Send As.
- Repeat steps 9 and 10 to allow Receive As and Send As permissions for:
- Domain Admins
- Enterprise Admins
- Exchange Domain Servers
- Click OK to save settings.
- Navigate to Start > Run.
- Type
services.msc
and click OK. - In the Services pane, right-click Microsoft Exchange Information Store service and click Restart.
