ASPNET

This directory contains all the files that are used by the web interface.

ASPNET\Services\DebugLogs

Debug Logs for the WebUI Services

ASPNET\UI

This directory holds the ASP.NET application for the regular web interface and the old web services (the Outlook Connector connects to them)

ASPNET\UI\bin

This directory holds most of the binary files used by the web application.

ASPNET\UI\bin\*

The sub-directories hold a DLL which stores the localized strings used to provide the Archiver interface in different languages.

ASPNET\UI\DebugLogs

This directory holds the debug logs of the Archiver web application.

ASPNET\UI\Help

This directory contains all files needed by the Archiver help for the various localizations.

ASPNET\UI\Images

Stores the various images used in the Archiver UI.

ASPNET\UI\Outlook

Stores the installation of the Outlook Connector. This is the file that is downloaded by users who download it from the Archiver UI.

ASPNET\UI\Profiles

Holds the profiles of users that logged on to Archiver. These profiles will hold language settings, search folder information and other user settings.

ASPNET\UI\Profiles\templates

Stores templates used to generate the user profiles.

ASPNET\UI\Services

Used to host web services implemented by Archiver (used by IET's BulkExport and the Outlook connector).

ASPNET\UI\Settings

Stores the configuration files used by the Archiver UI.

ASPNET\UI\styles

Stores the stylesheet used in the Archiver UI.

ASPNET\UI\Temp

The MARC UI stores temp files in this folder.

ASPNET\UI\User

This folder stores various ASPNET controls used in the UI.

BulkSchemaUpgrader

Directory used by the Bulk Schema Upgrader tool.

BulkSchemaUpgrader\DebugLogs

Directory which holds the debug logs for Bulk Schema Upgrader tool.

Core

This directory holds the files for the modules which form part of the MARC Core.

Core\bin

This directory holds most of the executable files used by the MARC Core.

Core\Data

This folder stores the configuration files used by the Core components.

Core\DebugLogs

The debug logs directory for the MARC Core components.

Core\Pickup

Emails retrieved by the DSScheduler from the Data Source are stored in this location. The Enveloper module will process any emails found in this location

Core\Queue

Emails and email information are saved to this location by the Enveloper module. The LogScheduler module will check this location and upload its contents to Store.

Core\SMTP

Directory used by the NotificationServices and the SMTPSend modules.

Core\SMTP\Pickup

Emails that need to be sent are saved to this location. This location is monitored by the SMTPSend module which will move the emails to Core\SMTP\Queue, where the emails will be queued for delivery.

Core\SMTP\Queue

Emails are moved to this directory before they are sent. The SMTPSend module will send any emails stored in this location to the mail server specified in the MARC configuration -> General tab

Core\SMTP\Retry

Emails that fail to be sent the first time will be saved to this location. The SMTPSend module will try to resend the messages every few seconds.

Core\Temp

Temporary location used by various MARC Core modules.

Core\Templates

Stores templates for notification emails (e.g. for the email that is sent to notify the admin that the evaluation is about to expire).

Core\UMPolling

Folder used by the UMPolling module.

Core\UMPolling\fail

Folder which stores failedNew.log. This log file records the emails which have been found in Outlook but have not been matched in MARC.

Core\UMPolling\queue

This folder holds MARCEMQUEUE.FDB, which is a copy of the queues used by the UMPolling module.

Databases

Default location for Firebird databases and binary folders where emails are archived.

Databases\*

When new firebird databases and binary folders are used, they will be stored in this location. The name of the directory will be the same as the “Archive Store Name”.

IMAP

Contains all data required for the IMAP server.

IMAP\Bin

This directory contains the DLL’s used by the IMAP server.

IMAP\Data

Contains configuration files used by the IMAP server.

IMAP\Data\DB

Contains the IMAPDB.fdb file.

IMAP\DebugLogs

The debug logs directory for the IMAP server components.

IMAP\Temp

Temporary location used by various MARC IMAP modules.

Indexes

Default location for the Indexes.

Indexes\*

When new databases are used, their index files will be stored in this location. The name of the directory will be the same as the “Archive Store Name”. Note that all databases will have their index files stored here (including MS SQL databases), since all indexes are maintained by MARC.

MailboxRestore

This directory contains the files used by the restore to mailbox feature.

MAIS

Directory used to store the MAIS files.

MAIS\Bin

Directory which stores most of the MAIS components.

MAIS\Data

Directory used to store the MAIS settings.

MAIS\DebugLogs

Directory used to store the debug logs created by the MAIS modules.

MAIS\Pickup

Pickup directory used for the importing of emails using MAIS. All the modules which import emails into MARC should be configured to drop emails to this folder.

MAIS\Queue

Queue folder for the MAIS modules. This folder is used to store emails just before they are saved to the MS SQL database(s).

MarcImportExport

The directory used to store the files for the MarcImportExport tool, including PST and Exchange mailbox import.

MarcImportExport\Data

Contains configuration files for the MarcImportExport tool.

MarcImportExport\DebugLogs

Directory used to store the debug logs created by the MarcImportExport tool.

MarcImportExport\de-DE

Stores binary files for localization of the MarcImportExport tool in German.

MarcImportExport\es-ES

Stores binary files for localization of the MarcImportExport tool in Spanish.

MarcImportExport\it-IT

Stores binary files for localization of the MarcImportExport tool in Italian.

MarcImportExport\Stylesheets

Contains stylesheets for the various options in the MarcImportExport tool.

Client Tools

Folder which holds the Outlook Connector installations (both x86 and x64), the Archive Assistant, File Archive Assistant, and the ADM files which are used to provide information about the URL of Archiver via GPO.

Search

Holds the files for the Search service.

Search\bin

Stores various binary files used by Search.

Search\Data

Used to store various XML files which hold settings used by the Search service.

Search\DebugLogs

Used to store the debug log files created by the Search modules.

Search\Temp

Used to store temporary files created by the Search service.

Store

Holds the files for the Store service.

Store\bin

Stores various binary files used to provide the functionality related to the Store.

Store\Cache

This folder is obsolete since MailArchiver version 6.

Store\Data

Used to store various XML files which hold settings used by the Store service.

Store\Data\Schema

Used to store the schema for the different types of databases used in Archiver.

Store\DebugLogs

Used to store the debug log files created by the Store modules.

Store\Temp

Used to store temporary files created by the Store service.

Troubleshooter

Stores the troubleshooting wizard and various files used by the troubleshooter.

VSS

This directory holds the files used to provide Archiver VSS Writer functionality.

VSS\bin

Stores various binary files used to provide the functionality related to the Archiver VSS Writer.

VSS\Data

Used to store various XML files which hold settings used by the Archiver VSS Writer Service.

VSS\DebugLogs

Used to store the debug log files created by the Archiver VSS Writer modules.

VSS\Temp

Used to store temporary files created by the Archiver VSS Writer service.
